Lemons and Cup

My latest painting, done on 'Gessobord' from the USA. The board is a thin hard MDF called masonite, coated with a gesso which is not as absorbant as normal acrylic gesso. It's a great surface for fine detail painting.

Glazed jug and lemons

So now I've done a few experiments in various subjects, I'm coming back to still life and will concentrate on that from now on, apart from more portraiture.
This is a fairly quick Alla Prima study. It was difficult to photograph as one part was dark and the other light. The painting does look slightly better in real life.
